Sailing Into Wellness have a variety of sailing vessels within our fleet. Ranging from the historically renowned 56ft wooden sailing ship, ‘A.K. Ilen’, the 38ft Scandinavian-designed ‘Olle Enderlein’ cruising yacht, a number of Hawk 20 keelboats and a 4.8m Ribcraft. These vessels bring a sense of adventure and renewed purpose to communities who need it most.
As custodians and guardians of the ‘A.K. Ilen’, one of Ireland’s last remaining wooden ocean-going sailing ships, Sailing Into Wellness is proud to have this exceptional ship in service and playing such an integral role in delivering our Educational and Therapeutic Sailing Programmes within our communities, all over Ireland.
Our Sailing Programmes provide a natural pathway for participants to progress their sailing skills at their own pace.
The basics of sailing are introduced on our Day-Sailing programmes and keen sailing enthusiasts can further develop their knowledge on our Progression programmes, opening up opportunities to gain Internationally-recognised sailing certification such as ‘Irish Sailing’ Keelboat Level 1 & 2 licenses and powerboat & competent crew qualifications.
In addition, the exhilarating experience of cruising on a 38ft yacht and living on board the 56ft historically-renowned A.K. Ilen sailing ship offers extended sailing experiences and educational opportunities to all those up for the challenge.
